Located in Gifu prefecture, this frail wooden elementary school has all the characteristics of a haunted house.   Sitting lonely by a quiet road side with lush green mountains all around, this was an interesting exploration.

 

Not much remains inside (maybe a few chairs and tables,) and I think it  was more about its creepy old wooden hallways and classrooms that all had a haunting ambience. Beautiful Kanji characters ran up the centre of an old staircase and vines and plants sprouted through its floors and windows.  Im unsure as to when it closed down, but  Im assuming maybe 30 to 40 years.  It was a nice place to check out in a beautiful area but very frail and almost on its last legs.
