Located in South Eastern Australia, this boys home was left to decay approximately 20 years ago.  Some nice wooden interiors that were sadly rotting away.  The living areas were a little on the spooky side (disused orphanages and children's homes aways make for a sombre explore).  Fortunately due to heritage listings, this building cannot be demolished which means it will remain here for quite some time until someone sources a purpose for it.

Gunkanjima sits about 15 kilometers south of Nagasaki city.  Initially opened in 1887, this small island operated as a coalmine base which also housed its many miners and families.  Mitsubishi (its last owner) closed the facility permanently in 1974 along with a number of other coal mining plants across Japan.
